Deputy involved in fatal crash in Floyd County

FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — A fatal crash has shut down a road in Floyd County and the sheriff confirms that a deputy was involved.

The crash happened Tuesday morning on Highway 321 near Highlands ARH. Sheriff John Hunt confirmed that a deputy was involved. One person was killed. The deputy suffered non life-threatening injuries.

Weather is expected to be a factor in the crash.

The road is closed at this time for crews to clear the scene.

    This saddens me to the core. The top picture is within eyesight of where I was born and raised, and the hospital behind the photographer is where my daughter was born (HRMC) at that time. I pray for the victim, as well as their family on this very bad day. May God give you peace.
