D.J. Bowens, 26, of Clifford, KY went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 27, 2019 at his home.

DJ was born November 19, 1993 in Louisa, KY to Bennie and Garnett Bowens. DJ loved to hunt and fish. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Bill and Vadie Maynard and Homer and Cynthia Bowens.

DJ is survived by his parents Bennie and Garnett Bowens; siblings Garland “JR” Johnson (Alisha), Terry Bowens (Carmell), Farrah Henson (Larry), Nikki Bowens (Michael), and Bennie Ray Bowens; nieces and nephews Tristan Bowens (Tabby), Katy Williamson, Khloe Johnson, Kaisen Johnson, and Flora Henson “Worm”; many aunts and uncles including a special uncle Thomas Rainwater; and his doggie Scout. DJ was blessed with many friends in his life and is survived by his best friends Cody Adkins (Shelby), Tyler Bowens, and his brother Bennie Ray, who was more than just a brother.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at 2:00 PM at the New Friendship United Baptist Church with Brother Richard Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Bowen Family Cemetery.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, December 31, 2019 after 2:00 PM at the New Friendship United Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to help offset funeral expenses.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Bowens and his family.
