LAWRENCE COUNTY ARREST – DECEMBER 9-15, 2019

In the past 7 day period from 12:01 A.M. December 9, 2019 thru to 11:59 P.M. December 15, 2019, there were at least 63 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 63, 5 of those arrested were from Lawrence County.

One Lawrence County resident was taken into custody in Martin County

That is in comparison to the previous past 8 day period from 12:01 A.M. December 1, 2019 thru to 11:59 P.M. December 8, 2019, there were at least 82 individuals who were arrested and were brought to be lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, Kentucky. Out of those 82, 8 of those arrested were from Lawrence County. Also, 5 Lawrence County residents were taken into custody in other Kentucky counties (1 in Morgan County, who was later transported to be housed in Rowan County, 1, Greenup County, 1 in Lewis County, 1 in Floyd County, who was then taken to Johnson County, and 1 in Johnson County).

The number of inmates that were lodged at the BSRDC in Paintsville as of 11:55 P.M. Sunday night, December 15, 2019, was 215.

The names and criminal charges of those latest five arrested in Lawrence County, along with the one Lawrence County resident arrested in Martin County, are the following:

Richard Love, 26, of Louisa, was arrested on December 11, 2019,at 11:43 A.M., by court security officer Rodney Lycans, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, 1ST OFFENSE.

Tyler D. Holbert, 26, of Louisa, was arrested on December 11, 2019,at 4:14 P.M., by trooper Randy Gabbard, of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with:

• FAILURE TO APPEAR.

James Combs, 66, of Louisa, was arrested on December 13, 2019, at 12:54 P.M., by court security officer Charlie Curnutte, of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with, via a grand jury indictment:

• POSSESS/VIEW MATTER PORTRAY SEXUAL PERFORMANCE BY MINOR,

• DISTRIBUTION OF MATTER PORTRAYING SEXUAL PERFORMANCES BY MINOR, 1ST OFFENSE.

 

Brett M. Thomas, 29, of Louisa, was arrested on December 13,2019, at 7:09 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department,and was charged with:

• THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

Brian A. Roop, 33, of Louisa, was arrested on December 14, 2018 at 12:36 P.M., by officer Billy Slone of the Kentucky Department of Corrections Division of Probation and Parole, and was charged with:

• SERVING BENCH WARRANT FOR COURT.

Robert R. Whitt, 39, of Adams,Kentucky; was arrested in Martin County on December 9,2019,at 12:08 P.M., by the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with:

• POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (DRUG UNSPECIFIED),

• TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE,

• PRESCRIPTION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE NOT PROPER CONTAINER 1ST OFFENSE.
