Olive Hill, KY –  Republican Patrick Flannery announced his candidacy for state representative in House District 96 – which includes Carter and Lawrence Counties.

“Our families deserve a state representative who will stand up for our values in Frankfort,” Flannery said. “My opponent has a record of not supporting legislation to protect the sanctity of life and our Second Amendment rights. I will be a workhorse in Frankfort to fight for our God-given rights, our commonly held values, support President Trump and ensure that the hard-working folks in Carter and Lawrence Counties have a seat at the table.”

Flannery most recently served as deputy executive director of the Office of Administrative Hearings, where he ensured that taxpayers and citizens received a fair shake from the government in administrative hearings as the presiding Hearing Officer.

In 2010, Flannery was elected Carter County Attorney at the age of 29, one of the youngest prosecutors in the state at the time. As county attorney, he was recognized for his efforts to combat drug abuse, as Prosecutor of the Year, and twice as Public Official of the Year by a local addiction recovery organization.

Flannery is proud to come from a family full of current and retired teachers and public school employees. Flannery and his wife Keri, a teacher at Tygart Creek Elementary School, reside in Olive Hill. They are the proud parents of one daughter, Demi Rose Flannery, and are expecting a second daughter in December 2019.

Nothing against the gentlemen running but I won’t trust a Republican in the state government EVER again.

      don’t forget about the federal

A bunch were elected just recently, didn’t you notice? It’s way past time to bust that stupid teachers union, then pay them what they really deserve(looking at KY’s rank with the other 50 states), minimum wage! Overpaid teachers putting out future fast food employees.

      • Citizen says:

You can barely make it back and forth to work on minimum wage 😂 we all need more money because inflation has went up a lot over the last ten years but wages haven’t.

Great man, will make a fine State rep!

    TRUMP 2020

  3. LCalltheway says:

Sorry Patrick but Kathy Hinkle ran as a Pro-Life and Pro-2nd Amendment advocate. He is hoping that the voters will just take his word on that statement but he cannot be further from the truth. Kathy also voted as a ProLife supporter so if he says that she didn’t, he is not being truthful about that.

Lawrence County is being well represented by one of our own finally…. for the first time in decades. We do not need to elect someone from Carter County who starts lying about his opponent the very first day he declares that he is running….

    • KAG says:

got that right Kathy all the way

    • Charles says:

Did you know that Kathy’s every single vote can be checked online? You do know that…right?

      TRUMP 2020

      • LCAlltheway says:

I most certainly do know her votes can be checked online and I suggest you do just that Charles!

This is what we know about trump. When ask about his second term agenda by Hannity
he had no idea and leaves me to be encouraged by the fact that he can drink water with one hand.

  4. Fed Up Democrat says:

Another lying Republican. What is it about the Republican Party, that makes you lie so much? I personally know, Kathy, she mostly certainly is pro-life. I use to cross vote, but never again.

    • Charles says:

So, you will never vote Republican because you claim ONE KY Rep is pro life (or claims to be)? You will never vote for Republicans (who are all pro-life and pro second amendment)? WOW, how bone stupid can you be? Now you will always vote Democrat (who most all support abortion)? Are you retarded?

    • Blaine Voter says:

If Kathy is pro life. Why did she not vote at all.For the babies to have a right for life.Rocky Adkins voted no they did not have a right. And Kathy did not vote in it.If she is such pro life as you say.She would of voted for the babies rights!!!

  5. KAG says:

    Lib Gal 2 weeks ago

(This brings to mind something that I came to realize recently.

“A liberal can not be a Christian.”

As liberals, we support and push for abortion rights, homosexuality, and other things that the Bible frowns upon and that Christians disagree with. So as liberals, we can not also be Christians.

This doesn’t mean that because Trump and many Republicans are not liberal, they do not have bad morals. They certainly do. This doesn’t mean that all conservatives are Christians. I’m just pointing out that liberals can not be Christians.)

    • Charles says:

You quote that liberal trash, because you are liberal trash. When you face God, she can tell her big story you love so much, and you can stand and look stupid.

      • LCAlltheway says:

Wow! Someone got to you Charles? Again when people can’t support their positions, they start name-calling and criticizing others. Charles here is a good example of that…

        • KAG says:

the check drawer is again off his meds

        • Charles says:

If you support that idiot KAG, you don’t have a position to support.

        • Charles says:

“State Sen Reggie Thomas and State Rep Kathy Hinkle, both Democrats, pre-filed a bill to raise the state minimum wage to $15 per hour”. Copyright 2019 WDRB media.
This is the grand total of what Kathy Hinkle has done with her time in office. Anyone who thinks this is a good idea is not very bright…to say the least.

Mark my words; KAG will think its a great idea!

          • KAG says:

it’s time to raise the min wage anybody who doesn’t has never had to work for a living or just don’t care about anyone besides there selves
and don’t give this BS about prices going up things go up all the time
it’s like saying cut taxes on the top it will trickle down we have been trying that theory for 40 years it still doesn’t work

          • Charles says:

KAG, if you ever worked at a skilled job of any kind, you would understand how insane raising minimum wage is! The people hurt most by an increase are minimum wage workers. There is no way in hell you can understand, so I wont bother.

          • KAG says:

that’s the same thing you right wingers said about Obamacare but in fact over the last 9 years it’s been the biggest job creator
you Trumptards said the tax cuts you passed in dec 2017 would pay for there selves how’s that working out
prices of goods go up every year when 40% of your force are stuck in low paying jobs it’s NOT good but if you every worked a day in your life I just can’t see why you be against raising the min wage unless you are in the top

  6. Pk says:

He’s doesnt even believe in his own clients that pay for his attorney services, just stands in court and let other lawyer run over him. So I’m sure he would do the same as a state representative. Wrong person for the job, Lawrence county don’t need him. And. I am a republican voter.

  7. Super Duper says:

    Hey KAG. “Themselves.”

  8. Rhonda Endicott says:

Patrick Flannery is a good man who has strong core values that are important to both Lawrence and Carter Counties!! He believes in the 2nd amendment, he believes in the right to life and he is pro education!! He has the connections to go to Frankfort and advocate for our county and get things accomplished! Believe it or not… that matters! Nothing against Kathy but what has she done for Lawrence County? I am sure she is nice but nice doesn’t equal results!! Patrick Flannery will get results!! He has the experience that matters!!
