On Sunday, November 24, 2019 the town of Fort Gay WV held its 3rd Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Mayor Joetta Hatfield was there helping with getting things organized and greeting everyone.

Santa’s Elfs ( Tolsia HS cheerleaders )

They had lots of decorations, and a photo booth for anyone wanting to take pictures. There was also cookies and hot cocoa provided for everyone by the local churches, plus lots of Christmas music and caroling.

Santa Claus and his elves even showed up to take pictures and talk to the children. The elves handed out candy canes to the youngsters while Santa was getting his picture s taken with them. The children were very excited to see Santa.

The Lions club members handed out ornaments for residents to put names “in remembrance of their loved ones” on the tree for the tree lighting ceremony. This was preceded by The Pledge of Allegiance and prayer. A good time was had by all and a big thank you to everyone who made this possible for the community!
