Trash thrown out by Senters
After cleanup by Senters

A Lawrence County man has written a letter of apology to the public for illegally dumping trash on Richardson hill according to judge/executive Phil Carter in an email message.

Jonathan Senters was caught by Solid Waste coordinator Jim Burchette and agreed to write the public apology. The message did not say the letter was written as part of Senters’ punishment for the crime.

“Yes. I have the receipt that shows where I dumped the trash at the county dump and I still have to to volunteer service to make it right,” Senters told The Lazer.

“In lieu of his fine, Judge Carter had him help our Solid Waste Coordinator
clean other dumps. Β He provided the receipt showing he did take the cleaned
up debris to our Transfer Station,” Judge’s asst. Shawna Marcum said. “Judge Carter will have me send you a report like I did previously each month or at least as close to it as
possible.”

In order to catch the illegal dumpers Jim Burchett found names in the dump and contacted those individuals which made him aware that they had paid Mr. Senters to clean out
a rental property and they assumed he disposed of properly until contacted
by Mr. Burchett, Ms. marcum said.

I don’t think Phil Carter or Jim Burchett is a pervert and I don’t know the guy that dumped the garbage beside the highway but he did clean it up and apologized for what he done

  3. R. Robertson says:

I live in West Virginia. But I would like to say It takes a lot for a man to admit he did wrong. And Mr. Senters apology was perfect. I hope he only had to clean it up. And didn’t get into much trouble. Because we all do stupid things and make bad decisions from time to time. That doesn’t make us bad people.

I’m a little surprised, that so far one doesn’t think he should β€œapologize to (edited)”, and two more applaud the fact he apologized? In the real world, he should have been fined $10,000, paid for the cleanup and spent a minimum of 6 months in jail! Eastern Kentucky has overlooked criminal trash, dumping trash far too long. You have one of the most beautiful areas in the nation folks, stop destroying it. Putting your old cars in the creek is not normal people, nor is throwing trash over the hill! Out of sight out of mind is NOT OK! For the love of God?

One can always count on you for a well thought out, borderline brilliant and exquisite response to any subject, can’t they KAG? :)

    • Worried says:

Did the city get any of the money collected from the fine? It was collected by a county employee but I’m sure some of that trash was purchased inside city limits. I just thought I’d go ahead and ask about this for you KAG. I thought maybe you’d forgotten.

      • KAG says:

I doubt the city received any of the money from the fine which is a grain of sand in the sand box compared to all the tax money the city residents pay the county each year and guess what they get none of that money if you think the county roads are bad now just think what they would be without the city residents money going in the county pool my guess it would probably be gravel roads at the best do you have any other questions I might help you with

KAG, my comp 1 professor would have had a stroke; had he read that kind of ‘run on sentence’! They use punctuation in the third grade KAG.

    • Citizen says:

i wish that you democrats would learn to use some punctuation a little punctuation goes a long way it makes things much more enjoyable to read not that posts by this lady are ever enjoyable to read

      • Charles says:

KAG, you give yourself away so easy when you pretend to be someone else. NOTE: Lower case (i) at the beginning of your sentence, and no period at the end.

        • Citizen says:

That comment was actually directed toward KAG. I was making a point with it by not using punctuation or capitalizing. Good day my Charlsie! 😍

Same comments different article. This woman gives her times to keep is all informed about the news in our town. She does this for absolutely nothing because it’s free to us but people like you always picking on someone about grammar smh. You act as if you’re perfect but you can bet your hind end that you’re not buddy. Jesus Christ himself wasn’t even perfect, but here you are being such a cruel person. I fed a homeless woman today in Louisa that I went all through high school with, when have you ever done something fo someone else that they could never pay you back for? You bash ever story this woman writes and anyone who comments besides a choice few. You ruin every single story and yet you blame her. Be thankful because this county stays a lot more informed since Levisa Lazer started.

    • Charles says:

Ashley, I hope you know who or what you are talking about, I don’t! Who bashed the writer or the Lazer? I just don’t think justice was done in reference to the person doing the littering, I saw no mention of a fine or jail time? I also disagree with you, Jesus Christ was perfect!

  8. KAG says:

I believe KAG is living rent free in Charley and Citizen head

    • Charles says:

      Or somewhere! πŸ™‚

  9. Johnathan Ryan Senters says:

Originally my fine was for someone else, meaning that another individual actually got charged for the trash that I dumped! I made a phone call to Jim Burchett and admitted that I was the one that had made the crime.
As the other person was released from paying the fine, I agreed to “Picking up the trash and taking it to the county dump, WRITE A APOLOGY LETTER, and do volunteer service to make things right!

    I have learned a
lot of values from the mistake I made

For the people that criticize my letter just remember this, I apologized to everyone and myself. Your grammar school and literature professor really has nothing to do with me. I actually stepped up for my actions and the things I did wrong. While you are hiding behind a keyboard throwing stones at a glass house, as far as paying a $10,000 fine, that is really not up to you. THAT IS WHAT OUR COUNTY OFFICIALS ARE FOR!! I had no fine because I feel like I made it right with a lot of people “that doesn’t have to be you”. Littering penalties in the state of kentucky is up to a year in jail and up to a $500 fine, so where you got 10 grand from is beyond my belief!!!

    • KAG says:

so you did keep your MAGA hat

    • Charles says:

There is a felony version of criminal littering also. It consists of 1 to 5 years, and up to a $10,000 fine. If this was your first offence, I doubt you deserved that, and I suppose what you did will have to do. As to what I say to others; its none of your damn concern! As for my hiding from the likes of you, don’t bet the farm on it! I still think you should have paid more, must be kin to somebody huh?

    • Charles says:

My apologies, KY DOES NOT have a felony version of criminal littering. That is why the creeks are full of junk cars and beautiful areas destroyed by a few weak minded fools! Other states (TN included), have up to $30,000 fines and up to 6 years in jail. Oh well we live in a beautiful place, that we are proud of. Its sad my home state doesn’t feel the same?

  10. Super Duper says:

KAG is a very πŸ˜’ unhappy individual. Probably a real drag to be around.

  11. Big Charles M says:

Tell u what my pills didn’t get dumped nor did my heroin
