Two minutes and 30 second routine with jumping, tumbling, stunting, cheering and dancing. The daily intense grueling practices as they prepare for competitions.  The Lawrence Co. high school and middle school cheerleaders headed to Louisville, Ky Saturday for the annual 2019 UCA Bluegrass Championship where schools come from all over the state to get that bid  to head to Oralndo, Fl where they compete for the White jackets which are given at the UCA National High School Cheerleading Championships, which air on ESPN..

The competition is fierce and so competitive and some teams will  succumb to the pressure. It’s a day of intense anticipation, nerves, practicing and watching the competition of all the other competitors in their division.

The middle school didn’t have a flawless routine with some stunt falls but were able to qualify for the bid to Nationals.  The high school on the other hand had several falls which ultimately resulted in last place and no bid to Nationals. The event was televised on Varisty.com with all the results.

The middle school competes under the Large junior high division where the top 6 get a bid to Nationals.

1st Houston Middle

2nd Brentwood Middle

3rd Barret Traditional Middle

4th Woodford County Middle

5th Bowling Green JH

6th Louisa Middle School

The high competes under the Medium Varsity category where only 8 teams competed with the top 6 getting a bid to Nationals.’

1st Pulaski County

2nd Bullitt County

3rd Greenwood HS

4th Montgomery County

5th Pendleton Count

6th Cullman HS

7th Harrison County

8th Lawrence County
