The city of Blaine was incorporated on March 10th, 1886. However, it has been without leadership for over a decade now. Its time we either abandon the idea of being a city/dissolve it or choose representatives from the people and move forward. Please join us for a conversation about Blaine’s future. This is open to anyone with an opinion-either for or against-that live in the Blaine area.

I love the ideal of keeping Blaine
I had no idea Blaine was ever incorporated, much less is currently! People need to use this to their advantage. Since that beautiful town (that I once considered moving to), is somewhat crime infested in recent years. Your Circuit Judge could appoint some decent people to the positions of Mayor and council until the next election (I think). Then perhaps a police Dept (small one at least), people don’t like paying taxes, but most don’t like what’s going on in Blaine these days either I would imagine? Maybe the people of that area don’t want that or the cost at least, but the state does provide funding, as do other agencies, such as but not limited to Big Sandy ADD. Just a thought, you decide!
