Louisa, Ky — In a matchup of top ranked teams in the 15th Region it was a stale mate as Lawrence Co. ( 4-4-1 ) and Prestonsburg ( 7-1-1 ) played to a 1-1 tie in Boys Soccer action Tuesday at the LCHS Soccer Complex.

Tyler Maynard scores the equalizer against Prestonsburg and the SoccerDawg defense did the rest.

The Blackcats scored first before Tyler Maynard evened the score on a goal and the two teams battled for field possession but could not crack the scoring column the rest of the way.

Bath Co. 3 Lawrence Co. 2 ( Saturday )

In the King of the Mountains Classic on Saturday the SoccerDawgs fell to Bath Co. in a tight one 3-2.

Tyler Maynard scored both goals with the assist going to Luke Johnson and SJ Lycans.

Lawrence Co. will travel to Ashland tonight to take on the Tomcats.

Lawrence Co. Head Coach Scott Johnson.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“… The game would have been a little better had we been able to put another one in the net. Trenton Adkins had his best game of the season working the net. Jimmy Cornette, Brian Nelson, Alex Ratliff and Logan Southers were able to keep their scorers in check for our defense. Also SJ Lycans has settled in to a new position really well and that has helped us control the middle of the field.”
