A Louisa man has found himself in some very hot water, after he was accused of threatening to kill the Marshall University cheerleading team, along with a specific female victim and her family.

According to an Associsated Press news report, Tanner Wayne Rasnake, 18, of Louisa, was booked Monday into a West Virginia jail on a felony charge of THREATS OF TERRORISTIC ACTS-1ST DEGREE.

Cabell County West Virginia Court documents stated that Rasnake texted the victim on September 1 and threatened her, her family and the Marshall University cheer team. The documents also said Rasnake then video called the victim and witnesses overheard Rasnake repeat the threats. Marshall University police filed complaints charging Rasnake later that day.

Tanner Wayne Rasnake was first arrested at his home on late Sunday night, September 1, by deputy Dwayne Bowen of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department and was charged with:

• FUGITIVE FROM ANOTHER STATE – WARRANT REQUIRED. Rasnake was transported to and lodged at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville, in Johnson County, on September 2, 2019, at 12:47 A.M.

Rasnake was transported on Monday, September 9, and was lodged at 12:40 P.M., in the Western Regional Jail in Barboursville, in Cabell County, on a $50,000 surety/cash bond. Rasnake has since been released after his bond was posted.

You just never know about people, how scary!

If someone would just take these punks way back in the woods, stomp the hell out of their phones, and them…problem solved! This little SOB is about as dangerous as a pussy-cat. It’s way past time that families start the discipline at home, that’s way past due! Law enforcement needs to stay out of it too. When people start dropping these liberal panty-waste ideas, take the damn cellphones, cars, video games and other devices to avoid parenting and do their job. I know liberals will cry over such a simple solution to a non-complex problem, but they need something to cry about; that is a major reason we are in the mess we are all in!

There’s 2 sides to every story. That girl has a horrible reputation. Teens get mad and let their temper get the best of them. I’ve heard so many say he’s a good kid from a good family.

How many good kids threaten to shoot up a school also l I’ll e everyone else said way past the point of discipline.

There of course are always 2 sides to a story. Both parties have been fussing with each other for a few years now. They used to call it dating. Tanner lost his temper but is certainly not homicidal. From what I hear both parties were partying with others that evening. Him with his friends in Blaine and her at a fraternity gathering. Alcohol is certainly a factor. I hope that this is seen for what it actually is and it what it’s being made out to be. He should receive a harsh penalty but not ruin his life here in this community. He is a good kid. Although he is 18 he is still forming those skills necessary to navigate life. I bet she has learned valuable lessons too. I am praying for all of them.

It indeed used to call it dating, now its called marriage! My point was, a lack of discipline among modern parents is a good part of the cause. Cell phones and texting are a part as well. As is peer pressure and many other things. I doubt the young man considered the serious nature of his actions, now he has been extradited to another state, Meaning FELONY. If he is convicted, that is for life, not until he completes the sentence! Had he had the proper guidance at home, this may not have happened? Sometimes that guidance needs to be hard line, of course the liberals of this country stopped that years ago. I’ll pray for him as well, however the prayers should go for the parents who don’t do their job, and buy the phones, video games and allow 18 years old’s to roam free and do what they want, except work and learn to ‘navigate life’. Just my opinion!
