August 31, 2019 : Appx 2057 — Louisa Police Department responded to a truck vs motorcycle collision on US HWY 23.
According to witnesses, Travis Vires, 24, of West Van Lear was driving his 1996 Dodge Ram pickup North on US 23 when he crossed across the median and stuck a 2019 Harley-Davidson motorcycle ridden by 62 year old Randy Baldwin of Paintsville whom was transported to Cabell Huntington Hospital via helicopter due to injuries.
Vires was arrested and charged with
- DUI- Aggravated Circumstances,
- Failure to produce Insurance Card,
- Failure to Maintain Required Insurance 1st off, and
- Assault 2nd Degree.
Vires was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center. Investigation is being handled by Detective Hunter James.
