Pickup truck/logging truck crash took place on 645 at the 1690 intersection

Johnny Haney, Sr.

At approximately 5:01 PM Friday evening responders were sent to the area of 645 and 1690 due to a collision that involved a flatbed tractor trailer & a red pickup truck. The operator of the pickup, Johnny Haney, Sr., 69,  was assisted and then sent to TRMC by NetCare. Haney was later flown to St. Mary’s Medical Center where he passed.

The police report said it appeared that the tractor trailer was turning out of the log yard into the west bound lane on 645, the pickup truck was east bound in the passing lane when the vehicles collided.

Assisting on the scene was Lowmansville Fire Dept. & Lemaster’s Towing company. The collision is still being investigated by Lawrence county deputy Mike Housinger.

Traffic was backed up for over an hour after the accident
