Reuben Ison, Jr., 58, of Louisa, KY passed away Monday, July 8, 2019 at Community Hospice Care Center in Ashalnd.

Reuben was born September 21, 1960 in Paintsville, Kentucky to the late Reuben and Jewel Holbrook Ison. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Emily Ison, a brother, James Randall Ison, a sister, Kathy Williamson, and three brothers in law, Billy Templman, Norman Waller, and Charlie Skaggs.

He is survived by two sons, Reuben Ison III and Brian Blair; two brothers, David (Freda) Ison, Doug (Marlene) Ison; four sisters, Ella (Robie) Brown, Lu Ellen Templeman, Velta (Darrell) Blevins, and Anna Ison; five grandchildren, Blair “Rosie” Ison, Jamison Ison, Beau Blair, Brylee Blair, and Brendan Meadows, a special friend, Susan Salyers, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Reuben was a kind, gentle soul with a big heart, who always found the good in everyone.  He loved his Lord, family and friends.  He lived for his children and grandchildren.  He was a truck driver and member of Smith Chapel Church.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Wilson Funeral Home with Bro. Jerry Patrick officiating. Burial will follow in the Anthony Ison Cemetery at Moon, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Wednesday, July 10 after 5:00 PM at Wilson Funeral Home.

All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
