END OF MONTH PROBATING SENTENCES

The Lawrence County Circuit Court met on Friday, June 28th and several people were arraigned on new charges while the remaining were sentencing and Probation Violations. The docket was small in comparison to past dockets from this year.

 

Tyler Branham, 36 was arraigned on Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 2nd degree, 1st offense, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Persistent Felony Offender.

 

Sherry Castle, 37 was arraigned on Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, 1st degree. A warrant was served along with an EPO on defendant. Pretrial to be held on 7-26-19.

 

Daniel Chapman, 26  pled guilty and will be final sentenced on the following on 7-26-19, 3 years on Possession of a Controlled Substance (methamphetamine) 3 years on 1st degree Possession of a Controlled Substance, 5 days on Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol/Drugs, 12 months on Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Charges all to run concurrently with supervised probation over 4 years.

 

Elizabeth Churchill, 46 pled guilty on Fraudulent Use ID Card of Electronic Code For Benefits and will receive 2 years of unsupervised probation with a pretrial diversion on final sentencing on 7-26-19.

 

 

Donald Dickerson, 33 pled guilty and will be final sentenced on 7-26-19 to 3 years for Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree and 12 months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia Unsupervised Probation over 3 years and other conditions.

 

 

Travis Falls, 44 pled guilty and was sentenced to 3 years for Complicity Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine, 12 months for Complicity Possession of Drug Paraphernalia with Failure to or Inproper Signal being dismissed.

 

Gary Fyffe, 54 was arraigned on Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st degree, methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Pretrial to be held on 7-26-19.

 

Jason Hale, 39 was remanded to custody after not showing up for PST. Case reset for next motion hour on 7-12-19 for 1st degree Possession of Cocaine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

Travis Lay, 23 pled guilty and will be final sentenced on the following on 7-26-19. 5 years for 3rd Degree Burglary with Persistent Felony Offender enhancing the charge to 10 years. Probation to be supervised over 5 years with other conditions.

 

Jimmy Levering, 60 pled guilty and will be final sentenced on 7-26-19 to 3 years for Complicity Trafficking in a Controlled Substance which will be amended down to a lesser charge and 12 months for Complicity Possession of Drug Paraphernalia over 3 years of supervised probation and, drug court.

 

Carl Marcum, 31 was arraigned and bond to stay the same until placement for treatment on Possession of a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine. Pretrial to be held on 7-26-19.

 

Mason Masters, 23 was sentenced to 2 years for Possession of a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine and 12 months on Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All probation supervised with a pretrial diversion.

 

 Aaron Maynard, 25 was not present for sentencing and a bench warrant was issued on Trafficking in a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

 

Brian Maynard, 50 pled guilty to the following and will be final sentenced on 7-26-19 to 3 years for Possession of a Controlled Substance, 12 months for Fleeing or Evading Police, 2nd degree, with Operating a MV on Suspended License and Carrying a Concealed Deadly weapon being dismissed. The defendant will be monitored through Drug Court.

 

Stella Mullett, 32, pled guilty to an offer by the Commonwealth will receive 2 years supervised probation with other conditions. Final sentencing to be held on 7-26-19.

 

Matthew Russell, 29 was sentenced to 2 years on Complicity Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and 12 months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. All time to be probated over 2 years and unsupervised with other conditions.

On a separate case:

2 years for Possession of a Controlled Substance, 12 months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Charges all probated.

 

 

Vickie Vanhorn, 46 pled guilty and was sentenced to 3 years for Complicity Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and 12 months for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. The defendant will be on unsupervised probation over 3 years with other conditions.

 

Alisha Whitt, (docket has date of birth as 1948 which is believed to be a typo) Pled guilty and will be final sentenced on 7-26-19 to 2 years and 1 day, unsupervised probation over 2 years and drug court on Possession of a Controlled Substance, methamphetamine.

    Drug court is not for everyone really hope these people have success with it.

    Slap them on the wrist and tell them go do it again. There’s no punishment and everyone knows it.
