LCHS TENNIS COMPETES IN STATE TOURNAMENT

Lexington, Ky — All twelve Lawrence Co. Tennis team members competed in the 2019 Top Seed Tennis Club/KHSAA State Tennis Championship on Thursday at the University of Kentucky.

In Boys Doubles

Senior Hunter Goble and Sophomore Herbie Parks lost to Boone Hart and Matthew Jenkins from Montgomery Co. 2-6 and 1-6 in the first round.

Sophomore Brock Kessinger and Freshman S. J. Lycans lost to Justin Lucas and Mac Meek from Ashland 0-6 and 3-6 in the first round.

In Boys Singles

Senior Noah Fairchild lost to Phillip Priest of Lexington Henry Clay 0-6 and 0-6 in the first round.

Senior Lincoln Rose lost to Samual Mitchell of Bullitt East in a very good match 4-6 and 4-6 in the first round.

In Girls Doubles

Junior Eden Webb and Freshman Adrian Webb fell to overall #3 Seed Danny Poat and Shelby Puryear of McCracken Co. 0-6 and 0-6 in the first round.

Seniors Sheree Hay and Maci Pollock lost to Sarah Jiranek and Mallory Vowels of Central Hardin in a good match 4-6 and 2-6 in the first round.

In Girls Singles

Junior Jessalyn Osborn fell to Marissa Austin of Webster Co. in a good match 4-6 and 3-6 in the first round.

Senior Katelyn Pauley won her first round match because of injury against Sarah Young of Owensboro Catholic before falling in the second round to overall #5 seed Katie Beavin of North Oldham 0-6 and 0-6.

We would also like to congratulate the Following Lawrence Co players who made all-area tennis voted upon by all-area coaches.
