CHIEF INTRODUCES NEWEST LPD OFFICER AT SWEARING IN CEREMONY

LOUISA, Ky. — May 14, 2019 – The Louisa Police Department welcomes its newest member Teddy B. Newsome, 22 of Grethel Kentucky.

Patrolman Newsome is a 2015 graduated of Betsy Lane High School and a 2019 graduate of University of Pikeville with a Bachelors of Science degree in both Criminal Justice and Sociology. During his enrollment at UPIKE, patrolman Newsome was the president of Alpha Phi Sigma (National Criminal Justice Honor Society) he also served as president, vice president and treasure of Gamma Sigma Chi fraternity and as E-Board member, philanthropy chair representative and class president within the Student Government Association.

During his time at UPIKE Newsome was a member of the Criminal Justice Club and completed his internship with the Pikeville Police Department. Newsome is presently a member of Zebulon Masonic Lodge.

    With all the qualifications of this young man Louisa needs to be very pleased to have him! However it does make me wonder with all his credentials why or how he ended up in Louisa and didn’t join the police force in Pike county. Does anyone know what brought him to Louisa?
