BASEBALL DAWGS GET MERCY RULE VICTORY OVER LEWIS CO.

VANCEBURG, KY. — Jackson Feltner and CJ Fairchild hit back to back Home runs to lead Lawrence Co. ( 3-0 ) to a 13-2 mercy rule victory over Lewis Co. ( 2-1 ) Friday evening.

L TO R Samual Collinsworth, Tyler Maynard, CJ Fairchild, Jackson Feltner

Bryce Blevins went four innings on the bump to garner his first victory of the young season. Blevins allowed 1 earned run on 3 hits and struck out 5 Lions. CJ Fairchild struck out the side in his one inning of work to close out the victory.

On the offensive side for the Dawgs Fairchild finished with 2 hits and 3 RBIs, Feltner also doubled and drove in 2 runs. Lucas Maynard tripled and drove in 4 runs, Ethan Whitt had 1 hit and 2 RBIs, Austin Roe doubled and drove in 1 run, Blevins and Jacob Fletcher had 1 hit and scored 2 runs, Tyler Maynard scored 2 runs from his leadoff spot.

Lawrence Co. will return to 58th District action Monday with a trip to Prestonsburg and then back home against the Blackcats on Tuesday.

“… Lewis Co. is a very good team that has all the pieces to contend. Things went our way the first couple innings and then we busted it open in the 4th. I’m pleased with our effort tonight. I thought we got off the bus ready to play.”
