LOCAL GIRLS HELP TEAM WIN 8U FAST PITCH TOURNAMENT IN INDIANA

LANESVILLE, IND. —  Three 3rd graders from Lawrence Co. traveled to the Hoosier state over the weekend with their WV Dusters 8u Girls fast pitch softball team and went 4-0 capturing the Future Stars of Sports Warm Up Classic Championship.

On Saturday the Dusters opened up the tourney by beating Swat 10-3 in the first game and then beat KP Fire 16-0 in game two and finished Saturday 2-0.

On Sunday morning the first game started with the temperature at a brisk 27 degrees and frost on the field but the Dusters didn’t let that effect them at all with a 11-4 victory over Georgetown Storm.

In the Championship game the Dusters completed the weekend undefeated by blitzing Red Alert 15-6 to bring home the title.

Teams from Kentucky and Southern Indiana participated in the early season tournament.
