LOUISA, KY — #3 seed Lawrence Co. ( 22-7 ) made quick work of #2 seed Prestonsburg ( 20-11 ) by the score of 75-47 Monday night in the first round of the 58th District Girls Tournament at the Dawg House.

The Lady Dawgs jumped all over the Lady Blackcats 20-12 after one period and led 41-17 at halftime.

In the second half Lawrence Co. left no doubt after the two teams split in the regular season with a 34-30 advantage and cruised to the win to advance on to the District Championship game.

The Lady Bulldogs placed four in double figures led by Kensley Feltner with 16 Points, Brooke Neal netted 15 points, Kaison and Kyleah Ward tallied 13 points each, Lexi Ratliff 8 points, Sheree Hay 7 points and Emilee Holt chipped in with 3 points.

The Lady Dawgs hit 5 three pointers and 8-13 from the free throw line.

Prestonsburg was led by Reece Endicott and Caroline Ariaz with 12 points each.

PHS hit 3 three pointers and went 13-18 from the charity stripe.

LCHS 20 21 22 12 = 75

In the first game of the night #1 seed Floyd Central ( 26-2 ) beat #4 seed Betsy Layne ( 7-22 ) by the score of 65-31.

Lawrence Co. will face Floyd Central at Home Wednesday night for the 58th District Championship at 7:00.

The Boys 58th District will begin tonight at Lawrence Co. with Prestonsburg and Betsy Layne at 6:30 and Floyd Central and Lawrence at 8:00.
