Additional charges filed against a Martin County man accused of killing
INEZ, Ky. – East Ky. Broadcasting is reporting that new charges have been filed against a Martin County man accused of murder.
Well known 67 year old Elwood Six, of Inez, was arrested in May of 2018 for the December, 2017 shooting death of Rodney Stepp at Stepp’s home. At that time, a grand jury had returned an indictment of second degree manslaughter.
However, the ongoing Kentucky State Police investigation has recently uncovered new evidence, which was presented to a grand jury last Thursday.
There was no report on the evidence or what it consisted of.
That new evidence resulted in a more severe charge of first degree manslaughter. Six, who was out on bond for the original charge, was arrested Thursday afternoon on the new charge.
However, officials at the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville say Elwood Six was released on bond Thursday evening.
