On Monday, January 21, 2019, Master Sgt. Bill “Hammer” Hammond passed away at his home in Frankfort, Kentucky.

Military leadership is defined as “the process of influencing others to complete the mission by providing purpose, direction, and motivation.” With a military career spanning over three decades, Bill was one of a kind; He was the best at what he did and set the standard for all to follow. He was everything that many stories and movies attempt to portray, but always seem to fall short of – Brian D. Brooks

He loved his family, life, music, Harley-Davidson Motorcycles, and never met a stranger.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Gladys Fleming.

He is survived by his son, Will Hammond, daughter in-law, Anne Hammond, sister, Judy Colston, nephews, Matthew Colston, Cameron Colston, and Sebastian Dean, step-father, Clifford Fleming as well as a host of friends around the world.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Harrod Brothers Funeral Home on Monday, January 28, 2019, at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until service time on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made to the Michael J. Fox foundation.

Arrangements are under the direction of Harrod Brothers Funeral Home, Frankfort, Ky.

Condolences may be shared via the online guestbook at www.harrodbrothers.com
