The Taylor Messer Benefit was held Sat., December 8, 2018. Several events were offered during the benefit.

The 1st event started at 9am was The Cocoa Classic 5K Fun, Run & Walk Race.

Next up at 11am was Ms. Rachel Messer local singer/song writer from Fort Gay, WV. She recently performed on NBC The Voice. Along with two other local performers put on a Benefit Concert at Fort Gay PreK-8 Elementary School.

Beginning at 10am to 1pm Yummy Southern Lunch was serverd either Chicken Dumplings Meal, Chili Meal or Hot Dog Meal with deserts.

During the entire event a Silent Auction was held, and some items Crum and Tolsia Students made and donated with all the proceeds going to Taylor and her family.

The Messer Family made this comment, “On behalf of our family, I would like to thank everyone who participated in the “Cocoa Classic 5K Benefit for Taylor Messer” event today.  The food was wonderful, and the atmosphere and hospitality were spectacular.  I would like to thank Fort Gay PK8, Crum PK8, and Tolsia for their support in making the wonderful baskets, trees, and wreaths for the silent auction and participation.  I’m grateful to the singers who came to sing in support of our Taycat. Thanks to the participants and workers who donated their time to make today successful.  A special thanks to the staff at Fort Gay PK8 for putting the event together. The outstanding support confirms that the people of our community are committed to providing the highest quality of care and support for Taylor.”

#TAYLORSTROOPERS posted this as her last update on Dec. 3, 2018.

UPDATE:  She has been Happy to be home, it has been a joy for her this weekend and it has been fast.  She goes to the doctor Tuesday to draw blood at Marshall Health/Cabell to ensure she is ready for our next round of treatment.  Then Wednesday we go for an MVR in Columbus, so they can find her best veins.   She will then be submitted to the hospital Thursday and have surgery that will allow a way for the doctors to draw blood and administer chemotherapy during her second round of treatment.  Let’s pray for her anxiety to be low, she does not like this part of the process, it is those needles.  Let’s pray her spirits to remain high and she fights like the warrior we all know.  Round two here we come!  Thanks for all the prayers.

The communities of Fort Gay and Louisa wish Taylor and her family prayers and strength as she starts Round 2 of treatment.
