Windel Wilkie Chaffin, 78, of Fort Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at Community Hospice in Ashland, KY.

Wilkie was born September 8, 1940 in Horse Creek to the late Lawrence and Hazel Chaffin. Wilkie was a member of the Glenhayes Baptist Church and was a rabbit hunter. He retired from the Wayne County Board of Education with over 30 years service as a school bus driver. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters Ethel Harless, Ruth Endicott, Eula Grace Chaffin, Wanda Gaye Hodge, and Romaine Bowens; and his brothers Garland Chaffin and Lloyd Chaffin.  

Surviving are his wife Mary Chaffin; his children Regina (Gary Gene) Workman, Windel Earl (Helen Michelle) Chaffin; and Marcella Pearl (Chuck) Adams; 3 grandchildren; 4 great grandchildren; sisters Delsa Evans of Ohio, Shirley Gartin of Louisa, and Beulah Chaffin of Ohio; brothers Charles Chaffin of Ohio and Jim Chaffin of Wayne County; 19 nephews and 17 nieces. 

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 12:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ron Maynard officiating. Burial will follow in the Copley Section of the Webb Cemetery in Webb, WV.

Friends may visit the family on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. 

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Chaffin.
