FT. GAY, WVA. — Two suspects were arrested for a violent armed robbery Monday after an investigation conducted by the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department.

DYLAN, LEFT,  AND ZACHARY JARRELLS ARRESTED IN FT. GAY

Zachary Jarrells, 24,  and Dylan Jarrells, 26, both of Dunlow, WVA picked the victim, ‘CJ’ Stamperd of Crum, W.Va. up in Fort Gay and were traveling south on US RT 52 when they bragged to Stamperd that they stole the vehicle. According to the deputies report the victim said he told them that he wanted out of the vehicle and Zachary stopped the vehicle and both Dylan and Zachary stabbed the victim multiple times while he was in the back seat of the vehicle.

The suspects took Stamperd’s  wallet, phone, hoodie, and jewelry. The victim said he was able to get out of the vehicle and the suspects attempted to run him over when fleeing the scene, he told deputies.

Sheriff Thompson stated the victim was able to go to a residence nearby to call for help. The victim received five stab wounds during the robbery.

Sheriff Thompson stated the Wayne County Sheriffs Department, US Marshals, Drug Enforcement Unit, Parole, State Police, and Fort Gay PD began a manhunt for both suspects…

Thompson said they arrested Zachary Jarrells in the Fort Gay area and that he was in possession of numerous vehicle parts that were stripped from the SUV they were riding in. The SUV was located a short time later by Deputies.

Wayne County 911 advised officers later that night that they received a call and Dylan Jarrells had overdosed and they were rushing him to Cabell Huntington Hospital. After arriving at Cabell, Dylan was placed under arrest by the WV State Police.

Sheriff Thompson stated that Dylan Jarrells was currently on Parole for Robbery and under indictment for multiple charges in KY.

Sheriff Thompson commends all the agencies hard work and dedication.
