The Heritage Harvest Tour recently wrapped up its 9th year

The self-guided tour brought individuals from far and near to enjoy a part of Appalachian history. Many enjoyed Fall food favorites, crafts, quilts, homemade apple butter and sorghum. There was no admission charge to take part in the tour.

Each stop along the tour offered different items that were available to purchase, including antiques, fall decorations, pumpkins, mums, and a wide variety selection of food.

The Harvest Heritage Tour guided individuals through the rural areas of Lawrence and Boyd Counties with breath-taking views and scenery along the way. The tour was made up of 10 stops, each with something unique. Two new churches joined the tour this year and offered homemade ice cream and food.

The tour offered a great selection of delicious food, meaning most tour takers never left hungry. Some of the food options available at this year’s tour included: chili, chicken & dumplings, beef stew, barbeque, and much more, not mention the huge selection of desserts, apple butter, sorghum, jellies, etc. A few stops served breakfast, where old- fashion chocolate gravy was offered.

The Heritage Harvest Tour had something to offer for all ages. The kids enjoyed a free petting zoo and pony rides. Tour takers viewed working farms, some even took a walk through the corn maze!
