DAWGS AND REBELS SHINE IN YOUTH LEAGUE ACTION

FORT GAY, W. VA. In Tri State Youth League Football action it was Lawrence Co. traveling across the river to face Tolsia this past Saturday at Wilt Salmons Field.

The Rebels and Bulldogs met three times with the Dawgs winning two out of those three games. Lawrence Co. also played the Huntington Hawks in a C Team matchup and came away victorious.

 

Lawrence Co. 6 Tolsia 0  (D Team)

In the first game of the day it was the Bulldogs picking up their first win of the year as Jayce Dunn had a touchdown run for the only points of the ballgame. Both defenses played well.

Lawrence Co. 6 Huntington 0 ( C Team )

In another low scoring game the Bulldogs ( 3-1 ) defeated Huntington for the first time ever as Andrew Ratcliffe scared from 25 yards out and the defense played lights out.

Lawrence Co. 14 Tolsia 0 ( B Team )

In a highly anticipated matchup it was the Dawgs ( 3-1 ) coming away victorious as Kaden Johnson scored twice on the day. Johnson scored from 47 yards out to make it 6-0 and then sealed the victory with a 51 yard scamper late in the contest. Gunnar Woods tacked on the two point conversion to set the final score of 14-0.

Tolsia 30 Lawrence Co. 22 ( A Team )

In the last game of the day and another intense game it was the Rebels walking away victorious and improved to 4-0 on the season.

Tolsia QB Luke Williamson hit Cole Jordan for a 31 yard touchdown and Drew Prince added the conversion run. Jacob Litton had a 61 yard touchdown jaunt, Parker Watts took it 31 yards

for a score and Williamson connected with Jordan for the two point conversion, Bray Mollette had a nifty 31 yard touchdown for the Rebels last touchdown.

Lawrence Co., who fell to 2-2 on the season, got two touchdowns from Will McDavid, QB Talon Pollack hit Logan Ratliff for the other touchdown. Blake Prater and Ratliff scored once each on two point conversions.

Lawrence Co. will travel to Wayne this Saturday and then Host Martin Co. for Homecoming on Sunday October 7th starting at 1:00.

Tolsia will meet Huntington this weekend.
