NEW FALLSBURG FEARPLEX OPENS FOR THRILLS AND CHILLS

On Friday September 21st the Fallsburg Haunted House/Fearplex opened the doors for the season.

This year, as always, it’s packed with attractions that have had some turnaround and some reactions I probably shouldn’t mention. Nationally recognized as 16th in the nation and 2nd in Kentucky, THE FEARPLEX has exploded from a small local scary event to a modern, mechanized SCREAM Dream for patrons from all over..

There has been over $200,000 invested in the Fearplex in building material and labor in preparation for the 2018 season. “Our main investment was a brand new 4,200 sq foot building,” said FEARPLEX owner Brian Cassady. “The new building will take the place of our old 2 story building that the Fearplex began in.”

Cassady could not be reached for comment this morning!

“Don’t worry though because the old building where the scares began in 1987 will re-open in 2020 as an extreme haunt. The new extreme haunt scheduled to open in 2020 will be a totally different attraction sold only online with a limited number of tickets,” Cassady said.

Brian wouldn’t give an exact number of yearly customers but says 20,000 wouldn’t be unheard of. They have several busy nights during the season with numbers reaching around 3,000 he said. “They estimate that around 85% or more of our customers are from outside the county with 30% of those from outside the state creating a lot of tourism dollars for Lawrence County.

The doors open at 7pm and they stop selling tickets at midnight. One thing is for sure. The little hidden attraction has put Fallsburg on the map and is worth the trip that so many make.

If 3000 people go thru in one night that’s over $120,000. I do say Uncle Sam is eating them alive. Great thing for our little community.

85% out of county. Yes, you have priced local residents out of the fun.

Its only $22 per person !! So no its not $120,000 on a big night !! Lol and if $22 is to high then you obviously havent been out of the Tristate area for a long time !! Its $25 for Ripley in the Smoky Mtns and its only 1 attraction!! So for all 5 attractions $22 is cheap !!
