Hearing of Darlene Young has brought me much sadness. She was one of my favorite teachers. She tought me so much! How to embroider, make a nine patch quilt, and how to follow a recipe.lol I will always treasure the small silk heart she embroidered on the back of the quilt I made in her class, and the beautiful small message she wrote on it. Everyone ,friends and family will be in my thoughts and prayers!

A dear sweet soul. She was the very one who hired me to clean her house every week during my Senior year. She knew this was the only way I could afford to buy a class ring in 1979. Home Ec. was a great class because of her. If you sewed something wrong, she would rip out every stitch til you got it right! And I appreciated that. I never followed a recipe until she taught me. I love to cook and craft and She’s one of the reasons I do. My prayers to the family

My Condolences to my Cousin Max and the remaining Family.
Darlene was my Daddy’s 1st Cousin, therefore my 2nd.
I always loved her, when I went to LCHS from Blaine, she became Ms. Young. I never spoke of our being Family, it wasn’t appropriate. After my Freshman year, she could be Darlene again. I had a great deal of respect for this Dear Lady.
    Our Loss is Heaven’s Gain.
I only wish I had known, I would have paid my respects.
Rest in Sweet Peace, Ms. Young.
