LOCAL LAW ENFORCEMENT LOOKING FOR DRIVER AND PASSENGER WHO FLED FROM SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH IN WEBBVILLE AREA THURSDAY AFTERNOON

AUGUST 3, 2018 – written by WADE QUEEN

Lawrence County Sheriff Garrett Roberts is seeking information and looking for a pair of individuals who apparently ran away from their vehicle after they wrecked it in the Webbville area late Thursday afternoon.

According to the Lawrence County Emergency Agency, just after 5 P.M., Lawrence County E-911 received a call of a single motor vehicle accident, in that an automobile had a hard crash into a steep ditch, in the 9000 block road of Rt 201, near Fishertown Road, in the Webbville area, of Northeastern Lawrence County.

It was also reported that there were entrapment of two occupants, a driver and front seat passenger, in the wreck vehicle.

E-911 dispatched both Netcare Ambulance Lawrence County and the Webbville Volunteer Fire Department to the crash scene. However, when the responding emergency units arrived at the crash scene, it was discovered that both the driver and passenger had absconded from the area, abandoning their car. an older model two-door small coupe, that had suffered heavy damage to the front of the vehicle.

People running away from automobile crashes by foot or getting picked up by another vehicle by someone they know, happens more than you would think in Lawrence County. In fact, just a couple of weeks ago, a two motor vehicle wreck at the intersection of U.S. 23 and RT 3 near Hardee’s, one of driver’s fled on foot from the crash scene.

And the Webbville wreck marks the latest of the waves various types of motor vehicle crashes that have plagued Lawrence County in the last several weeks, with dozens of wrecks that have caused deaths, numerous varying degrees of injuries, and damages of all kinds in these accidents.

If anyone has any information as to who were the identities of the two people ran away from their car accident, they can contact their local law enforcement departments.

The accident case remains under investigation by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
