NEW SCHOOL SAFETY MEASURES
IN PLACE FOR 2018/19

Ptl. Julius Music has completed School Resource Officer Level 1 Training and with his new vehicle will be assigned to schools within the city limits.

NEW VEHICLE, NEW BEAT FOR LPD

LOUISA, Ky.  – The Louisa Police Department is prepared and ready for the new school year.

Ptl. Julius Music has completed School Resource Officer Level 1 Training and with his new vehicle will be assigned to schools within the city limits.

“With the school board paying half the salary for an officer we will be able to continue to provide extra protection and youth programs within our school system,” LPD Chief Greg Fugitt said.

The chief went on to say that changing the color of the vehicle to the school colors just shows our commitment and support towards the youth in our county. First day of school for Lawrence County if August 8th.

Lawrence Schools Supt. Robbie Fletcher

SUPERINTENDENT COMMENTS

“…As a superintendent and a parent, I sincerely appreciate the investments that both the county and city governments are making into the safety of our schools.

Ptl. Music did a great job for us last year.  Not only did he serve as a patrol officer, he also came out to support the students when he was off duty.  That shows his commitment to the students.

Admittedly, Chief Fugitt added a nice touch with the changes in the colors of the vehicle.  It is another example of our community being ALL IN!”

“Mr. (VERN) Hall has worked with the Sheriff’s Department to have an one officer to share with Blaine and Fallsburg.

The Board allocated $50,000 ($25,000 for the Sheriff’s Dept. and $25,000 for the Louisa Police Dept.) to pay for the services of an officer.”
