The region is fortunate to having a world-class production organization in the Jenny Wiley Theatre in Prestonsburg and Jenny Wiley Footlights Children’s Theatre in Pikeville. Talented actors from across the U.S. come to Eastern Kentucky to gain stage experience, showcase their talents and even teach aspiring actors in the children’s theatre.

Starring in one of the lead roles was Louisa’s own Russ Robinson as Young Simba.Last week Jenny Wiley Footlights gave the public a chance to enjoy “The Lion King Experience.” There were three live productions on Friday, July 6 and Saturday, July 7.

Starring in one of the lead roles was Louisa’s own Russ Robinson as Young Simba. He entertained the crowd with not only great acting but also vocal performances in the musical such as “I Can’t Wait to be King.”

This was Robinson’s third Jenny Wiley Footlights musical and he’s already looking forward to his next audition.

Russ Robinson is a 3rd grader at The Millard School in Louisa and is the son of local business owners Tim and Lelia Robinson.
