BOLO issued in search for ‘dangerous’ escapee
Investigators out of Martin County are looking for an inmate who escaped custody from a law enforcement vehicle today. Officers say Mark Crouch escaped by assaulting a deputy jailer on Monday evening and then proceeded to steal his vehicle.
Crouch was previously charged with burglary and possession of a handgun by a convicted felon.
The car is a gray, Ford Crown Victoria. The older model car reads MARTIN COUNTY JAILER in white letters on the side.
The last time the vehicle was seen was on Route 581 in Lawrence County.
Crouch was arrested several hours ago according to the Martin County sheriff’s department. At the time of the carjacking, the deputy jailer was taking Crouch to the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville.
Crouch is considered to be dangerous and officers ask for him not to be approached. If you see Crouch or the vehicle please call 911 immediately with the location or the Sheriffs Department at 606-298-2828.
