REGIONAL BASEBALL, SOFTBALL REGIONALS DODGING RAIN; WORK OUT PLAN A AND PLAN B

PAINTSVILLE, KY — (11:00 am) Weather has been the main attraction in the 15th Region Softball/Baseball tournaments so far this year.

This is plan A for the 15th Region tournament

The semifinals are set with seven out of eight District winners advancing.

After another rainout on Thursday night the teams will try again tonight.

 

On the softball side it will be Lawrence Co. ( 27-8 ) and Pike Co. Central ( 24-12 ) at 5:00 the two teams played once in the regular season with the Lady Bulldogs winning 8-3 in the Lyndal Potter Memorial at Pikeville.

In the other semifinal it will be Johnson Central ( 19-10 ) and Pikeville ( 29-9 ) the two teams split in the regular season with each team winning on the road.

The Championship game is set for 6:00 on Saturday night.

On the baseball side it will be Lawrence Co. ( 31-7 ) facing off with Paintsville ( 23-12 ) at 7:30 the two teams played twice in the regular season with the Dawgs winning 12-11 in Louisa and the Tigers winning 5-4 in Paintsville.

In the first game at 5:00 it will be Jonson Central ( 21-14 ) vs Pikeville ( 19-11 ) the two teams played once in the regular season with the Golden Eagles winning 4-2 at Home.

The title game is set for 7:00 Saturday night.

This is Plan B

 

If the games get postponed on Friday night the schedule will be as follows.

Softball will play the semifinals at Noon and 2:00 on Saturday with the Championship game at 3:00 on Sunday.

Baseball will play semifinals at Noon and 2:30 on Saturday with the Championship game slated for 7:00 Sunday.
