LOUISA, KY. — On Friday evening 143 young men and women said good-bye to 12 years of Lawrence County Schools in a grand ceremony and in front of the usual packed house at LCHS.

After the L.C. Band played Pomp and Circumstance, Supt. Dr. Rob Fletcher welcomed everyone to the bittersweet ceremony especially for family and friends of the graduates.

“The Lawrence County Senior Class of 2018 has been a part of some great accomplishments their four years. They have seen high levels of success in the classroom and in the athletic arena,” Fletcher said. “They are leaving some large Bulldog paw prints to fill.”

“Their high school careers were punctuated by a great graduation ceremony hosted by Mrs. Moore and her staff,” Fletcher added.

LCHS Principal Christy Moore introduced the guest speaker for the event, Lawrence County’s very own, Miss Jenna Blair Kelly.

Jenna Kelly is a 2008 Lawrence County graduate and went on to graduate from the University of Louisville with a bachelor’s in communication. Even though she began as a small town girl, she is now a model and actress that resides in New York.

Jenna has been featured in two films alongside Bruce Willis, (Precious Cargo, and Acts of Violence) and for the past decade, she has modeled internationally with brands such as Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Maybelline, Sam Edelman, Target, Macy’s and more.

It’s apparent the girl from a small town has made it, she has made her dreams come true.

That was exactly what she encouraged each and every person in that gymnasium to know. “Dreams that seem impossible are obtainable with hard work and dedication, no matter where you’re from.”
