Jarrett Fairchild smacks grand slam against Bryan Station in Lexington tourney

LOUISA, KY.  Lawrence Co. ( 27-7 ) celebrated Senior night with a 15-5 mercy shortened victory over West Carter Monday at Randy Keeton field.

All five seniors contributed to the win with at least a hit, run or RBI on offense including Jarrett Fairchild clubbing his fifth home run of the year.

Senior Kade Sword went 4 and 2/3 innings on the mound to get the victory. He allowed 5 runs, 9 hits and struck out 2 he also had one hit. Jacob Fletcher worked a perfect 1 and 1/3 innings in relief.

Senior Brad Parks doubled and had 2 RBIs, seniors Peyton Cyrus and Dakota Shortridge had one hit each.

Austin Roe had a triple and 3 RBIs, Jackson Feltner had 2 hits and 2 RBI’s, Tyler Maynard 2 hits and 1 RBI.

Last weekend the Dawgs traveled to Lexington to take part in the Fayette Co. Invitational and came away with a 1-2 record against some very good competition.

In the first game of the Fayette Co. Invitational the Bulldogs ran into a buzz saw and only mustered a Jarrett Fairchild RBI single that scored Jackson Feltner in the first inning. CJ Fairchild pitched and suffered his first loss of the season.

In the second game the Bulldogs scored 7 in the first and 5 in the fifth to pick up the win over the Lexington school.

Jarrett Fairchild smacked a grand slam and finished with 5 RBIs total, CJ Fairchild, Austin Roe, and Jackson Feltner had 2 hits and 1 RBI, Brad Parks doubled and knocked in one, Bryce Blevins double, Kade Sword and Tyler Maynard had 1 hit each.

Tyler Maynard started and went 4 and 2/3 on the mound to get the win. Maynard allowed 2 earned runs, 8 hits and struck out 3. Lucas Maynard finished it off going the final 2 and 1/3 innings, allowing 1 earned run, 2 hits and struck out 4.

In the last game of the invitational the Bulldogs from PLD took care of the Bulldogs from Lawrence County.

Jackson Feltner had 2 hits and 1 RBI, Brad Parks had a double and 2 knocked in, Austin Roe 1 RBI, Bryce Blevins, Lucas Maynard, Kade Sword, and Blue Fletcher had 1 hit each.

Blevins started and took the loss, his first of the year.

Lawrence Co. will finish out the regular season at Home tonight vs Sheldon Clark.
