Top ranked Lawrence County angler BJ Nelson ran into some tough weather conditions and came up short on the final day finishing 4th in the 2018 TBF NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS at Bull Shoals Lake Flippin, AR.
The veteran Louisa fisherman went into the final day Saturday tied for the top spot on the leaderboard with Austin Wilson of Georgia at 14.02 lbs.
“BJ finished 4th overall,” said BJ’s dad, Gary Nelson. “He had 3 fish today and the guy tied with him had another limit. He lost a 3 1/2 pounder but never had the 5th on today. $5000.00 and 4th in the Nationals is not bad!”
BJ won the Southern Division.
