FALLSBURG, Ky. — A small electrical fire in a second floor bathroom wall heater of Fallsburg Elementary School this morning was quickly doused but not before all students and staff were evacuated from the rural school in Lawrence County, Ky.
Fallsburg Fire Chief Chris Jobe said his department was on the scene within minutes but the fire had already been extinguised by teachers and other staff at the school with a fire extinguisher.
“There wasn’t much damage and the students went back into the school for a normal day,” Jobe said. “There was no smoke in there at all.”
Lawrence County Chief deputy Sheriff Mark Wheeler also responded to the scene.
