APRIL 10, 2018

R.O.C.K. (Raising Our Christian Kids) held their annual homeschool prom Friday, April 6.  The prom was a huge success with sixty-seven students in attendance.

R.O.C.K. is an activity group geared toward homeschool students and small private school students. Public school children are welcome to participate.  We do dances, festivals, field trips, and other activities to help our children interact socially with other Christian children.

2018’s was our fifth annual R.O.C.K. Prom.

Students vote for prom court each year and this year’s winners were:

Lord and Lady: Traquan Smith and Gianna MacLean

Prince and Princess: Peyton Arrington and Tarasen Rose Daniels

King and Queen: Noah Rose and Madelyn Rose Conn

We would like to thank the following for their part in making ROCK Prom 2018 a wonderful event:

Burnaugh Baptist Church graciously allowed us the use of their fabulous facilities. Thank you, especially to Kelly Griffits for helping us with so many things. We really appreciate you!

Carreen Arrington at Hometown Florist and Gifts of Louisa, Kentucky donated roses for our lady, princess, and queen, and sashes for all our prom court, as well as allowed us to borrow many props. Thank you so much, Hometown Florist!  Hometown Florist of Louisa, Kentucky is at 603 Lock Avenue, in Louisa, and can be found online at www.hometownfloristandgiftsky.com

Teresa Jobe made and brought all the delicious food at no cost to us. Teresa’s church family, Fallsburg Tabernacle, goes on mission trips to Mexico to teach children about Jesus, and if anyone would like to support this I’m sure they would be glad to take donations. If there is a way we can thank Teresa for her kindness, I’m sure that supporting their missions would be the way to do that. Thank you so much, Teresa, for your love and support of ROCK Prom every year!

Christina Lauterwasser and Kalan O. Stephens Photography volunteered to do photographs for packages for the prom. We are able to sell photo packages and put the money toward future ROCK events thanks to you kindly donating your time and skills to us. Thank you so much!
