Wilda Rose Maynard

Wilda Rose Maynard, formerly of Wayne County, West Virginia won her race for a heavenly crown on March 28, 2018.

She departed this Earth to be with her closest friend, Jesus Christ and a host of others she was longing to be with including her biological mother and father, Howard and Alma Sutherland, her adoptive mother and father, Georgia and Brooks Maynard, and her sisters Garnet Jean Colegrove and Ruby Sutherland.

She leaves behind her most loved life treasures, her son, Jason (April) Compton, a daughter, Rebecca (Samuel) Ferris, and three precious grand babies, Luke Compton, Samuel Ferris III, and Myla Ferris.

She was a cherished daughter and a devoted sister, but her greatest accomplishment and best work was being a wonderful mother. She was a confidant to her beloved friends and family and always knew just what to say and do when they needed her. She prayed diligently for those she loved and equally for those she had just met. She never knew a stranger and had a heart as big as her beautiful smile. She enjoyed cooking and canning delicious foods and sharing them with others at her table. She also liked to spend her time quilting, reading, building jigsaw puzzles and loving all the little children of the world.

Per her request, a memorial will be held at a later date to be announced by invitation.

All care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
