LADY DAWGS GO 2-2 WITH TWO BIG DISTRICT GAMES LOOMING

Louisa, Ky. — Pikeville (15-6) hit a free throw with 5 seconds left in regulation to force overtime and eventually walked away with a 59-52 victory over Lawrence Co. in girls basketball action Monday night.

Lawrence Co. is 14-5 and 3-1 in 58th District action this season.

 

Lexi Ratliff led the Lady Dawgs with 15 points, Kendra Spaulding tallied 12 points, Hannah Rucker finished with 10 points including 2 three pointers, Kelly Davis chipped in with 9 points, Kassidy Cavins 4 points and Kensley Feltner 2 points.

LCHS hit 3 three pointers and went 5-10 from the line.

Lawrence Co. 61 Prestonsburg 56 ( Friday )

In a key 58th District game Lawrence Co. moved to 3-1 with a victory over visiting Prestonsburg.

Kendra Spaulding had 14 points in a big District win on Friday night over Prestonsburg.Seniors Kendra Spaulding and Hannah Rucker had 14 points each to lead the way, Kelly Davis tallied 9 points, Lexi Ratliff and Kassidy Cavins had 8 points each, Kensley Feltner finished with 6 points and Chelsey Fields chipped in with 2 points.

LCHS hit 2 three pointers and went 7-15 from the line.

Floyd Central 52 Lawrence Co. 44 ( Wednesday )

Lawrence Co. made the trip to Floyd Central and came up on the short end for the first time in District play even though Lexi Ratliff scored her 1,000 point in her career.

Lexi Ratliff after the game as she scored her 1,000 point of her career vs Floyd Central. Ratliff finished with 15 points to lead the Lady Dawgs, Hannah Rucker hit 3 three pointers for 12 points, Kensley Feltner hit 3 three pointers for 9 points, Kendra Spaulding tallied 9 points, Kelly Davis chipped in with 2 points.

LCHS hit 7 three pointers and went 5-9 from the field.

Lawrence Co. 63 Elliott Co. 58 (Monday)

Last Monday the Lady Dawgs took route 32 out to Sandy Hook and came away with a nice road victory.

Kelly Davis had a monster game with 24 points and 17 rebounds to lead the way, Kendra Spaulding tallied 15 points, Lexi Ratliff finished with 12 points, Kassidy Cavins and Kensley Feltner had 7 points each.

Lawrence Co. will return to action with two big 58th District games that will determine seeding for the tournament held at Floyd Central.

On Wednesday they will travel to Prestonsburg for a 6:00 game and then host Floyd Central for a Girl/Boy Doubleheader on Friday night at 6:00 and 7:45.
