BURGLARY: COAL CREEK ROAD LAWRENCE COUNTY, KY

On January 27, 2018 at approximately 9:00am Lawrence County 911 received a call of a burglary in progress on Coal Creek Road in the Martha area. The caller said a subject was caught breaking into a residence and was being held there.

Chief Deputy Mark Wheeler responded to the address along with the Kentucky State Police. Before law enforcement could make it to the location the male subject fled almost striking a person and hitting that person’s vehicle, the report said.

Ricky VanceThe subject fled toward Blaine and then turned going back into Johnson County.

Upon arrival it was found that the subject had broken into an oil pump house as well as an old house.

After getting a vehicle description and learning that the suspect was Ricky Vance, 50 of Blaine, KY Chief Deputy Wheeler patrolled the area attempting to locate Mr. Vance and arrested him on South Highway 201 where Vance had driven off the roadway.

Items stolen in the burglary were located in the vehicle. Mr. Vance was arrested and charged with 2 counts of burglary and wanton endangerment. He was then lodged in the Big Sandy Detention Center.
