James ‘Jay’ Marcum

1929 — 2018 

James “Jay” Marcum 88 of Rockcastle Road Louisa, Ky. went home to be with the Lord on Saturday Jan. 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Jay was born Dec. 10, 1929, the son of the late John R. and Grace Gooslin Marcum. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Alma Lemaster Marcum who died in 2006 and two daughters Theresa Houser and Beverly C. Pope.

Survivors include four daughters Rita Cook, Darlene Maynard and Tina (Morgan) Kirk all of Inez and Elizabeth (Dean) Fannin of Tomahawk, KY; a son Alvin Marcum of Louisa; two sisters Celia Edgell of Ashland, KY and Naoma Brown of Grayson, KY; and two brothers Delbert Marcum and Clem Marcum; twelve grandchildren and a host of Great Grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jay was a disabled coal miner and member of the Vineyard United Baptist Church.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Jan. 23rd at 1:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Paul Stepp officiating. Burial will follow in the Pope-Hammond Cemetery Louisa, KY.

Friends may visit the family on Monday from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home.

Care has been entrusted to Wilson Funeral Home.
