Samuel J. Workman

1934 — 2017

Samuel J. Workman, 83, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, December 29, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Workman was born April 16, 1934 in Lawrence County to the late John and Lilly Workman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings Junitta Johns, Louise Justice, Hazel Lee Dotson, Nell Thompson, and Claude Workman.

Mr. Workman is survived by his wife Augustine Workman and sisters Thelma Zag of Columbus, Ohio and Wilma Ruth Douglas of Tollesboro, Kentucky.

He was a retired Brakeman for C&O Railroad, a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Buchanan Chapel Church and a member of Rush Masonic Lodge 715 F&AM.

Funeral services for Mr. Workman will be conducted Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Buchanan Chapel Church. Burial will follow in the Buchanan Chapel Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be Tuesday, January 2, 2018 from 1:00 PM until time of service at the church.

Young Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Mr. Workman.
