John E. Nix, 89, of Ft. Gay, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Mr. Nix was born September 7, 1928 in Calera, AL to the late John D. and Nellie Nix. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Muriel Nix; children Cathy Marie Nix and David Nix; grandchildren William S. Cunningham, Landyn Nix, and Benjamin Nix; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Survivors include his children Marshall E. Nix and Brenda S. Cunningham; grandchildren David B. Nix, Christopher Nix, Cathy Stephens, Kelly Stutler, John Nix, and Jennifer Smith; 11 great grandchildren, which included his best friend Toby; 1 great great grandchild; 3 sisters and his caregiver and daughter in law Sharon Nix.
Funeral Services for Mr. Nix will be Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in the Nix Cemetery, Ft. Gay, WV.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
