WHILE THE NUMBER OF ARRESTS ARE SIGNIFICANTLY DOWN BY THE 4 COUNTIES THAT OWN THE BIG SANDY REGIONAL DETENTION CENTER IN PAINTSVILLE THIS MONTH COMPARED TO THIS PAST OCTOBER, ESPECIALLY IN THE PAST COUPLE OF WEEKS.

BUT IN TWO OTHER COUNTIES, MORGAN AND ELLIOT, LAW ENFORCEMENT THERE HAS BEEN ON A MASSIVE ARREST BLITZ THIS MONTH, CAUSING THE INMATE HOUSING COUNT TO STAY AT UNPRECEDENTED NUMBERS.

THIS MORNING NOVEMBER 29, AT 11 A.M. AT THE BSRDC, THE INMATE COUNT WAS 317 INDIVIDUALS, IN A BUILDING THAT HAS A DESIGNATED CAPACITY OF 225 INMATES. TO COMPARE, AT 11 A.M. THIS SAME MORNING, THE PIKE COUNTY DETENTION CENTER IN PIKEVILLE HAS 366 INMATES, IN A FACILITY THAT HAS A DESIGNATED MAXIMUM INMATE CAPACITY OF 400.

10 PEOPLE ARRESTED IN LAWRENCE COUNTY IN THE PAST 8+ DAYS. IN ADDITION, ANOTHER 4 LAWRENCE COUNTY RESIDENTS WERE ARRESTED IN OTHER KENTUCKY COUNTIES ( 2 IN JOHNSON COUNTY, AND 2 IN POWELL COUNTY).

THE NAMES OF ALL OF THE ARRESTED INDIVIDUALS ARE THE FOLLOWING:

 

Marissa D. DossMarissa D. Doss, 26, of Prichard, West Virginia; was booked and charged on November 22, 2017, at 1:29 P.M., after being taken into custody by the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER, • PROBATION VIOLATION (FOR FELONY OFFENSE).

 

 

 

 

Jason N. SpradlinJason N. Spradlin, 29, of Louisa, was arrested on November 22, 2017, at 4:21 P.M., by patrolman officer Steven Wilburn of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • PUBLIC INTOXICATION-CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (EXCLUDES ALCOHOL).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Nathaniel M. PackNathaniel M. Pack, 34, of Louisa, was arrested on November 23, 2017 (Thanksgiving Day), at 4:11 P.M., by sergeant deputy Chuck Jackson of the Lawrence County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (COCAINE).

 

 

 

 

 

Kaitlin RinerKaitlin Riner, 22, of Louisa, was arrested on November 24, 2017, at 4:52 P.M., by sergeant Ed Cordle of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

 

 

Nellie B. SimmsNellie B. Simms, 43, of Louisa, was booked and charged on November 25, 2017, at 12:41 A.M., after being arrested and taken into custody by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department, to serve a guilty plea jail sentence: • CONTEMPT OF COURT LIBEL/SLANDER RESISTANCE TO ORDER, • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

Nellie B. Simms (Nov. 27)Nellie B. Simms was later transferred from the Big Sandy Regional Detention Center on November 27, 2017, by an officer of the Pike County Ky. Sheriff Department to the Pike County Detention Center, and was booked at 10:21 A.M., and was charged with: FALIURE TO APPEAR, and was given a $200 full cash bond, which she posted and was released the same day.

 

 

 

 

 

Amanda L. BurchetteAmanda L. Burchette, 38, of Webbville, Kentucky; was arrested on November 25, 2017, at 12:41 A.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

 

 

 Jonathan C. OwensJonathan C. Owens, 29, of Salyersville, Kentucky; was arrested in Lawrence County on November 26, 2017, at 9:21 P.M., by trooper Forrest Newsome of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE 1ST DEGREE 1ST OFFENSE (DRUG UNSPECIFIED), • GIVING OFFICER FALSE IDENTIFYING INFORMATION, • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (< 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • NON PAYMENT OF FINES.

 

 

 

 

Melissa G. PerryMelissa G. Perry, 48, of Dunlow, West Virginia; was arrested on November 27, 2017, at 5:16 P.M., by an officer of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING OR DISPOSITION SHOPLIFTING UNDER/$500.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Chester Spence

Chester Spence, 27, of Louisa, was arrested in Lawrence County on November 27, 2017, at 10:18 P.M., by trooper Forrest Newsome of the Kentucky State Police, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY, • CRIMINAL MISCHIEF 3RD DEGREE.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Jefferson B. SchaefferJefferson B. Schaeffer, 24, of Louisa, was arrested on November 29, 2017, at 12:07 A.M., by patrolman officer Hunter James of the Louisa Police Department, and was charged with: • ASSAULT, 4TH DEGREE (DOMESTIC VIOLENCE) MINOR INJURY.

 

 

 

 

 

Terry Stapleton

Terry M. Stapleton, 58, of Louisa, Kentucky; was arrested in Martin County on November 23, 2017 (Thanksgiving Day), at 6:02 P.M., by a deputy of the Martin County Sheriff Department, and was charged with: • IMPROPERLY ON LEFT SIDE OF ROAD, • DRIVING ON DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE -1ST OFFENSE.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Malena L. FieldsMalena L. Fields, 42, of Louisa, was arrested in Johnson County on November 26, 2017, at 12:52 P.M., by trooper Dustin Thompson of the Kentucky State Police-Post #9-Pikeville, and was charged with: • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (> OR = 2 GRAMS METHAMPHETAMINE), • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (>20 D.U. DRUG UNSPECIFIED), • TRAFFICKING IN CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, 1ST OFFENSE – (>10 D.U. DATE RAPE DRUG), • POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 3RD DEGREE – DRUG UNSPECIFIED, • THEFT OF RETAIL MERCHANDISE FOR RESALE, • PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER II.

 

 

 

 

 

Keith PenixKeith Penix, 26, of Louisa, Kentucky; was taken into custody in Powell County on November 28, 2017, at 12:40 P.M., by a deputy of the Powell County Sheriff Department, and was given a: • COMMITMENT ORDER.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Eric WardEric Ward, 22, of Louisa, Kentucky; was taken into custody in Powell County on November 28, 2017, at 1:16 P.M., by a deputy of the Powell County Sheriff Department, and was given a: • COMMITMENT ORDER.
