Girl Scout Troop 51450 of Fort Gay got to take a tour of Town Hall with Mayor Joetta Hatfield, along with other town officials this past Friday, November 17.

The girls have been working on their respective Government/Citizenship badges and finished up the badge with a tour of each elected official’s office, the mayor’s office Sheila Bowen gives a tour and describes the job of being town recorder to GS Troop 51450and a Q & A session with Mayor Hatfield.

The girls also came up with their own rules and regulations of what their own town would be like if they were Mayor and presented them to Mayor Hatfield. The girls had a wonderful time and learned a lot of information that they can use now and in the future.

Troop 51450 would like to thank Joetta Hatfield and all City workers that stayed that evening to give the girls a new perspective on how their town operates and why it’s important to be a good citizen.

“Girl Scout Troop 51450 is Awesome! We enjoyed their visit to FG City Hall. The Girls were so well behaved, respectful and had some great ideas for our town” said Mayor Joetta Hatfield.
