Dale C. Smith

1929 — 2017

 

Dale C. Smith, 88 of Louisa, KY passed away Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV.

Dale was born February 9, 1929 to the late Waldo and Iva Smith in Clarksburg, WV. Dale served in the Army and was retired from Aristech Corporation. He was a member of the Louisa United Methodist Church and a Board Member of the Soil Conservation District. Dale loved sports and was an avid supporter of local youth sports, women’s basketball and UK.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter Korey Easton and brothers Ralph Smith and Argel Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Smith; children Douglas (Therese) Smith, Tracey (Kevin) Easton and Donna Jean Zinn; grandchildren Rebekkah Schmidt, Rachel Eldridge, Alexander Easton, Aaron Zinn, Brian Zinn, and Emily Zinn; 8 great grandchildren; and sister Bernice Moore, as well as many unofficial grandchildren he loved to claim as his own.

Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be conducted on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Louisa United Methodist Church with Rev. Dan Smith and Rev. Guy Moyer officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday, November 17, 2017 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Louisa United Methodist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Young Funeral Home.
