LOUISA, Ky. — Methamphetamine abuse continues to plague Lawrence County which is apparent in the latest Felony Docket. Plus, local officials are now seeing more and more people charged with Heroin possession and sale.
Probation is now trending as our judicial system is beginning to evolve and recognize that jail may not be the answer. Sentences are switching from jail beds to rehabilitation beds.
Here is the latest docket from Lawrence Circuit Clerk Jodi Webb Parsley:
Randall Bowen, 24 was present on charges of first-degree possession of a controlled substance/opiate, 1st offense. Trial date set for 2-20-18.

Roger Barnes, Jr., 32 was arraigned on charges of 3 Counts of COMPLICITY TO RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER $10,000, COMPLICITY POSITION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST degree AND COMPLICITY TO POSSESS A DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. The defendant remains on bond, and a public defender was appointed.
Tyler Branham, 34 was on the docket for FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, 1ST degree (ON FOOT), PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER, 1ST DEGREE, COMPLICITY POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE FIRST OFFENSE, (METHAMPHETAMINE), FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY, FIRST OFFENSE, NO OPERATORS LICENSE, NO/EXPIRED KENTUCKY REGISTRATION RECEIPT, FAILURE TO WEAR SEATBELTS AND POSSESSION OF AN OPEN ALCOHOL BEVERAGE CONTAINER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE.
The defendant is in Warren County Jail and the case was reset.
Gary D. Brewer, 68 was arraigned on the charges of THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING $10,000 OR MORE, AND PERSISTENT FELONY OFFENDER, 1ST DEGREE. The defendant will remain incarcerated on the same bond and pretrial will be held on 11-22-17.
James Burchett, 38 was sentenced to 3 years of Supervised Probation over 5 years, with a Pretrial Diversion and 90 days of Home Incarceration for COMPLICITY TO RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER $10,000. Concurrent to another case.
James Burchette, 38 was sentenced to 5 years on both Counts of 2 counts of RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY UNDER $10,000, and received 5 years of supervised probation with a pretrial diversion in over five years and 90 days of home incarceration, consecutive with other case.
Tyler Burchett, 23 was arraigned on the following charges, TAMPERING WITH PHYSICAL EVIDENCE, COMPLICITY UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF METH PRECURSOR, FIRST OFFENSE, COMPLICITY POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE SECOND OR GREATER OFFENSE, COMPLICITY TO POSSESS DRUG PARAPHERNALIA, AND COMPLICITY POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA. Pre-trial to be held on 11-22-17.

Clarence Childers, 46 was arraigned on charges of FLEEING OR EVADING POLICE, FIRST DEGREE, WANTON ENDANGERMENT, 1ST DEGREE ON A POLICE OFFICER, OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL/DRUG WITH AGGRAVATING CIRCUMSTANCES, DRIVING ON SUSPENDED LICENSE, FIRST OFFENSE, AND FAILURE OF NON-OWNER OPERATOR TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE, FIRST OFFENSE. Pre-trial to be held on 11-22-17, and A public defender was appointed for bond in home incarceration evaluation.
Sherry Cook, 46 was on the docket for eligibility of completion of a diversion. The motion was denied, the defendant was not eligible.
Marissa Doss, 26 was on the docket for 1st DEGREE POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, COCAINE, FIRST OFFENSE, DRUG PARAPHERNALIA POSSESSION, AND POSSESSION OF MARIJUANA. The defendant was not present and a bench warrant will stay in effect for failure to appear.
Kimberly Endicott, 49 was arraigned on the charges of CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT 2ND degree, AND THEFT BY DECEPTION INCLUDE COLD CHECKS UNDER $10,000. Pre-trial date set for 11-22-17.
Erin Evans, 47 was present on the charge of CRIMINAL POSSESSION OF A FORGED INSTRUMENT 2ND degree, the case was reset for 12-8-17.
John Evans, 62 pled guilty to CONVICTED FELON IN POSSESSION OF A FIREARM and was sentenced to 3 years of supervised probation. Final sentencing will be held on 11-22-17.
Jeremy Fleshman, 37 was on the docket for a FELONY REVOCATION HEARING. The defendant was not present and a bench warrant to be issued.
Justin Harless, 29 was present for a FELONY PROBATION REVOCATION HEARING, The hearing was held with witness Billy Slone from the Probation and Parole office. The case was reset for 11-22-17, and judge to make a decision in 30 days.
Stacey Keesee, 35 Pled guilty to an amended charge of ASSAULT, 1st degree and received 5 years of supervised probation, a Pretrial diversion, 180 days of Home Incarceration and other conditions, the defendant received 12 months for CRIMINAL TRESPASS, 1ST DEGREE and will be final sentenced on November 22, 2017.
William O. King, 58 was on the docket for Eligibility for a Completion of Diversion. The motion was granted.
Rhea Mann, 20 was present on the charges of POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST°, FIRST OFFENSE METHAMPHETAMINE, AND POSSESSION OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA. Sentencing to be held on 11-9-17.
Alisha Martin, 38 was sentenced to 2 years of unsupervised probation and 3 years of drug court for the charge of POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE, SECOND OFFENSE, (METHAMPHETAMINE).
William McCoy, 45 Pled guilty to COMPLICITY TO BURGLARY, 3RD DEGREE and received 4 years, pled guilty to COMPLICITY THEFT BY UNLAWFUL TAKING $500 OR MORE and received 5 years. The Probation will be supervised for 1 year and 4 years unsupervised. Final sentencing to be held on 11-22-17.

Michael Mills, 57 pled guilty to an amended charge of COMPLICITY TO MANUFACTURE METHAMPHETAMINE, 1st offense and was sentenced to 5 years supervised probation over 5 years. Final sentencing will be held on 11-22-17.
Christina Moore, 31 what is present for a motion to reduce bond on the charge of COMPLICITY TO MANUFACTURE METHAMPHETAMINE, FIRST OFFENSE. Hearing set for next month on 11-9-17.
Jasmine Mullins, 51 Pled guilty and was sentenced this date to an amended charge of complicity possession of a controlled substance, 1st DEGREE. The defendant was sentenced to 60 days, time served and property returned to defendant.
William Perry, 46 pled guilty to an amended charge of COMPLICITY MANUFACTURING METHAMPHETAMINE, 1st offense and was sentenced to 3 years of supervised probation over 5 years. Final sentencing to be held on 11-22-17.
Joel Stevens, 59 was present for a bond decision and a hearing was set for 11-9-17 on charges of DRIVING ON A DUI SUSPENDED LICENSE, 3RD OFFENSE( AGGRAVATOR), OPERATING A MOTOR VEHICLE UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL/DRUGS, 3RD OFFENSE, POSSESS AN OPEN ALCOHOL CONTAINER IN A MOTOR VEHICLE, FAILURE OF OWNER TO MAINTAIN REQUIRED INSURANCE/SECURITY 1ST.
Tonielle Adkins, 27 was present for a pretrial conference on charges of COMPLICITY TRAFFICKING IN A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, 1ST DEGREE (HEROIN) AND PROMOTING CONTRABAND 1ST DEGREE. Next court date set for December 8, 2017.
