OCTOBER 26, 2017

Prestonsburg, Ky. —  Louisa Middle finished the football season with another victory, this time over Prestonsburg 16-8 in a steady rainfall for their third straight win. The Middle Dawgs finished 4-4 on the year after a slow start.

The LMS Bulldog defense was once again terrific vs Prestonsburg despite a driving rain storm.

Blue Fletcher put the Dawgs on the scoreboard with a touchdown run and Mason Preston tacked on the two point conversion. After a Bulldog turnover the Blackcats cashed in and tied the score at 8 apiece at Halftime.

With time running out Bulldog Running back Trent Younts raced 85 yards for a touchdown and Fletcher added the two point conversion to set the final score of 16-8.

COACH’S COMMENTS

“…Really proud of our kids and how much better they’ve gotten as the season progressed. We didn’t understand how to compete early on. We have a good bit of 1st and 2nd year players so the game started slowing down for them as the season went on. We made some adjustments a few games in and the kids caught fire.

“…Four of these last five games (Paintsville, Raceland, Greenup and Prestonsburg) we have competed until the final snap with some of the better programs in E. KY. The kids have learned to embrace adversity, stick together and finish! We’ve become a strong “family!”
