1937 — 2017

Lonnie Hunt, 79 of Fort Gay, WV died Saturday, October 14, 2017.

He was born October 22, 1937 in Louisa, KY to the late Wayne and Mary Short Hunt. He was retired from the Wayne County Board of Education where he worked in the Maintenance Department. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers Carl Thompson and James Dolly Hunt.

Survivors include his children; Rhonda Kay Salmons of Crum, WV, Lonnie Ray Hunt of Fort Gay, WV, and Christopher Hunt of Huntington, WV. Additional survivors include six sisters; Hazel Thompson of Kenova, WV, Nancy Conn of Ashland,OH, Sally Thompson of Radnor, WV, Lillie Jackson of Ft. Gay, WV, Ethel Parsons of Ft. Gay, WV, and Ruth Parsons of Louisa, KY, along with a brother, Alex Thompson of Ft. Gay, WV, four grandchildren Ryan (Whitney) Salmons of Prichard, WV, Kennah Salmons of Crum, WV, Austin Hunt of South Point, OH, and Jacob Eli Hunt of Huntington, WV. Mr. Hunt also leaves behind a very special great granddaughter Ramzie Salmons of Prichard, WV.

Funeral services for Mr. Hunt will be conducted at 2pm Tuesday at the Young Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenny Bailey officiating. Burial will follow in the Thompson Cemetery at Vinson Branch.

Visitation will be from 6-9pm Monday at the Young Funeral Home Chapel.
